"We Are Not Alone"
Michael quickly stood up, wiped the heavy beads of perspiration from his
forehead with the back of his hand and his forearm, and headed as
quickly as his feet would take him to exit the classroom.
“Michael! Michael, are you alright?” The science teacher yelled to him
with deep concern.
Tears filled Michael’s eyes. It was all the more reason to escape! He
took a deep breath once he was out of the room. He kept on going!
Running towards his car, he felt like he had to get away! He’d figure it
all out later. For now he was free! Tomorrow when he saw everyone, he
would be prepared with some bullshit answers as to why he bolted.
“Damage control! Like last week and the other times, I’ll just go into
damage control and sort things out,” he said to himself out loud, as he
felt his heartbeat slow down and his surging blood that slammed up along
and within his aorta begin to lighten up. “Free at last!” He declared,
contented that his panic attack had subsided.
Michael stepped on the accelerator and gave it plenty of Petrol. He had
to get home as fast as he could! He averaged 120mph. His Lexus was
equipped like most of the higher end sports cars with a system that
utilized streams of forced compressed air that ever slightly lifted the
weight of the chassis of the vehicle a millimeter or two in order to
reduce the friction of the tires with the roadway. Capable of going
three hundred miles per hour, driving at a speed of one hundred and
twenty was a little more than average.
